What’s it all about anyway? What's driving my current practice...
In all my years on this planet I am not sure I remember quite such a bleak time socially, with perhaps the exception of the early nineties when we were plunged into a severe recession in the UK. The more we tune into the news, the more negative it all becomes. There is not a lot of good news right now. We have a government that is not fit to govern, there is a new U turn each week, many people cannot afford to live a basic life, the economics do not add up, yet there is plenty of money. Most of it is caused by greed of huge global organisations and individuals with too much power. The money all rises upwards and then gets creamed off the top to offshore accounts where it sits doing nothing of real value and is just a figure on a bank balance somewhere. Corruption and corporate greed are everywhere.
Perhaps this view is a very tainted, UK-centric one in the post-Covid
world. We should be grateful for what we do have, and many people have it far
worse. The war in Ukraine is still raging, human rights abuses are still
happening day after day, people and animals are tortured, abused and worse. At
the root of all this is mankind, capable of so much good and so much bad. I
have always been an optimist and like to see the good in people and believe
that people can be redeemed. However, one look at the bleak world events of the
day and all we hear is the bad. The world is in a very low vibrational state it
would seem. How long until we melt down completely? Until some power-crazed
psycho drops a bomb and the world descends into a real hell on earth rather
than just one that progresses by degrees?
I am starting to see life here on earth as if it is in black
and white, not in colour and yet there is so much beauty in this world. I am
not depressed, far from it but the gloom keeps seeping in and I am sure many
others feel the same way. It is like we are being culturally brainwashed, and I
am tired of hearing about it.
I do believe there are other dimensions and just like
leaving the blanket of cloud that hangs above us when we travel on an aeroplane
and rise above it to the sunshine, there is brightness and light if we choose
to focus our attention there. There is light within us and light in the
universe. We just have to rise above that thick, grey cloud. We literally need
to transcend. There has never been a time it has been more needed.
