Into the great outdoors - art in nature

Now the fine spring weather has arrived, and the frosty cobwebs of winter can be dusted off, I decided to take a day out locally in nature and explore a sculpture park. Viewing art in the great outdoors is something of a treat; a break from white cube spaces and art shown in buildings, a change in scale as sculpture dominates the landscape and blends with its surroundings.

Leonardslee Gardens hosts an extensive outdoor exhibition of Anton Smit’s contemporary sculpture and life works created over a period of almost fifty years. On display for the first time in the UK, this ambitious exhibition of over eighty individual sculptures features significant pieces from Smit’s practice that represent different eras of the artist’s life, all of which are for sale.
